The Cowboys entered the 1999 season finale against New York with a 7-8 record, but thanks to a tie between four teams with 8-8 records (Dallas, Green Bay, Detroit, and Carolina), the Cowboys made it to the wildcard round. Dallas lost to Minnesota.
