“Amar, one of my best friends from IITG, is here in the US these days and he spent today with us and that was so nice. At Bangalore, where I spent 2 years before coming to IU, I often times used to spend my days at my friends' place where we used to cook together, chat, hang out and sometimes do nothing.I woke up at 10a today planning to do some cleaning and then quickly preparing some breakfast. After waking up, I ended up spending an hour and a half getting my Reliance account balance recharged since the minutes to call to India were over. Turned out that I had forgotten my password and retrieving it took me more than an hour! Anyways. It was already 11.30. And we were hungry. I also wanted to call up Amar, who is staying in a Hotel in Mountain View, to see how he is doing - his right eye is in terrible state because of some injury some months back and it has been paining so much that he had to go to emergency yesterday. And so, he cannot read, watch TV, or work on his computer. He was feeling terribly bored at the Hotel so I asked him to spend the day at our place. We were over with all the groceries and I also had to go to Walmart to return and buy some stuff. I thought of picking Amar first and then taking him to Walmart, then Safeway and then the Indian grocery store with me. Till now, it was already 1.30.By the time we reached home it was around 2.30 or so and our plan for breakfast at 11 was already converted to late lunch! We decided to cook some Alu Gobi (cauliflower and potatoes) with some Rotis (bread). And Sid got enthusiastic about cooking some Rasam that he was going to try cooking for the first time.Next 2 hours were spent cooking all these different dishes and it was like 6p or so when we were all set to eat! Finally! - It was so satisfying and blissful to see all our hardwork, ready to be eaten, especially because we were all famishing. After being satiated with food, we then we played an oldish 90's Bollywood movie Ghulam that was fun to watch, given the way Hindi movies are!It was a good day today.”
