“Webaroo is not alone in the Twittering game since number of teams have gotten few facts right by now - Twitter is way too easy to understand for development team and end users, and it is way too cheap to setup initially. But what most of them might be missing on is the vision behind the product. Copying a product is one thing, but being able to give it direction is another. If Twitter were to go out of the market today, I wonder what each of the companies would plan for their future.”

In other words, it is not that big of a development effort to get version 1 of Twitter look-a-like out of the door. From the operation standpoint most of the cost might be for the short-code and SMS delivery. From the end-user perspective, there is nothing much to learn and invest time into out there.
