At 18 feet the boat is tougher to right, but the added waterline has a speed advantage.All of the above seems to be obvious differences, but having never sailed the FX One, I am a little concerned about the boats ability in serious swell or wind chop. The hulls sit low in the water and with the boats speed ability, it might become very difficult in tougher conditions. I am interested in taking my next Hobie offshore and it seems that the Tiger is the natural choice with this being a primary need for me.That said, I still have a burning desire to run out and buy a FX One, even if it is for inshore sailing only. And if it did not cost 80% of the price of a new tiger, I would seriously consider doing that.”
