In christianity an angel is said to be pure and good, a medium of God's power which exist to execute God's will. The bible suggests that if you give an angel free-will, it'll turn into a demon. That in it self is a testiment to what it meens to be human. You're right to say that we are going to creat a self enduced extinction but you need to realise that theres nothing we can do to stop it. We make tools, we've been doing it since we were monkeys. After all, necessity is the mother of all inventions. Now whether its tools of war or tools of survival these tools them selfs are the ones that are gonna play a role in our extiction. Its no secret that the smarter we get the better our tools become, and the better our tools become, the more variable our path of extenction gets.Today we live in a world where only 10% of the earths population could live in a primitive enviroment becuase we've been relying more and more on technology to do our dirty work for us.We've got scientists that can easily make the hiroshima bomb look like a watermellon seed. And terrorists to political leaders thretning to nuke densly populated area's.You get the idea right? Technology is getting us closer and closer to our own extiction. Our very own tools are evolving faster than we are. Its simply a lot easyer to kill somebody these days compared to when we were still learning how to creat fire.
Ironic huh? our very own insctict for survival is leading us to our own extenction. Religion was intended to help counter this sort of behaviour. In other words, it was simply created to moraly resitrict free-will so that we don't end up killing each other. Today, many of us disreguard religion's importance and just see it as non-sense.Now our free will is only restricted by the laws we are required to follow, which is more corrupt than the goverment we have to day. So what do we have now? Well, we went from a peacefull civilization who's morals were restricted by a belief system to a civilization whos morals are only held together by the laws its government created.Which is better? Well, some debate the fact that becuase of the pyramids sheer size and magnitude, not to mention its archetechtural eligance, had to have been built not by slaves... but by pesants who saw the pharrow as divine.PS: "has yet to be applied on a large scale" again, thats what world war 2 was. If you meen giving the poor what they want everywhere on earth to get rid of crime then its highly unlikely that you'll find a plausible solution. In a world where resources are limited, its not realistic to give everyone what they want. Theres always gonna be one guy left out or someone unhappy by the choices you made.Personaly, I dare you to give me a plausible solution to end crime and war without restricting free-will
