My 12 year old son is a boy scout and recently signed on to become a den chief for a den of cub scouts. What this means is that he will join their meetings (in addition to his own troop meetings) and help the young cub scouts transition to becoming boy scouts. He is to be a role model, help teach the boy scout law and oath, and generally assist the den leaders.
The first cub scout meeting was last night and my son had to miss it because he is on a class trip. He was unhappy to find out that he would miss the first meeting with the cub scouts. He takes all his responsibilities so seriously, and then
he came up with a plan!
He wanted one of his parents to go to the cub scout meeting. He would call our cell phone and we would put the phone on speaker phone and he could speak to all the scouts.
I think he has seen his parents on too many conference calls for work. You've gotta love the work ethic though. He's quite a boy.
