“ My take on the free agent frenzy After sitting around for over 6 hours yesterday with few updates from the rangers on free agent day the announcement that Scott Gomez had signed with the Rangers broke, and I was going from website to website posting on various message boards and forums about it. However what I didn't know was that two minutes later the Rangers announced that signed Chris Drury as well! Two of the greatest centers in the game, both playoff tested and now both on the Rangers. I had expected Drury to sign with the Rangers him growing up a Rangers fan, and his #23 being based off Don Mattingly( of the Yankees). However after coming up through the Devils system I didn't think Gomez would also sign. On paper this coming season could be amazing for Rangers fans not only because of the free agent signings but also because the Buffalo, New Jersey, and Islanders got decimated.
