Free MP3s Of The Day By: Adrienne GrayStill HereRight NowI'm Still HereRooftopsThree CheersStreaming Video Of The Day: Stand by JewelSo, last night was...interesting. I was expecting a stress free shift, but of course, this didn't happen. Luke didn't show up, which meant rather than having 5 people we had 4. Which was a bit of an arse because it meant we could have done SO much, rather than doing quite a lot which we did do.But we had action and excitement! The police arrested someone on our forecourt! Drunk drivers I think because they stood in front of the car whilst the police did something inside the car and looked like they were doing some kind of strange disco dancing in front of the car. Very very odd. And annoyingly, the police wouldn't tell me what it was they were up to! Damn. I asked the police and they said they were idiot kids in a car. Ho hum.And then for more excitement, we had a real life shoplifter! OK, we get them a lot, but our supervisors never chase after them like something out of The Terminator. Rather than doing a hell for leather dash, Simon just strutted across the forecourt, tapped the girl on the shoulder and told her to give him the beer she had stolen. Much arguing ensued, and she shoved him. So a big girl's fight broke out where she pushed him, he pushed her, and eventually he grabbed the beer from her...and then let her go and yelled "call the police". Whilst I was on my break. I have no clue how much break I actually got in between jumping on the tills when no-one was on the shop floor, and telling Caroline to call the police. In the end, the police agreed with me that we should have kept hold of her and then they could have arrested her.And then we just plained rocked. 9 cages of ambient stock, 3 of them were promotions, and we finished another 5 of them, leaving just 1 cage which needed to be finished, and had bugger all in it really. So we were just plain stunning all in all. Which in turn led Simon to come over to me, kind of hover for a bit until I told him I thought we did well, and he told me he was really happy with my work, and that I had worked really hard last night. At the risk of sounding like I "love myself", I did bust a nut last night. I think until after my break, I was doing something like a cage every 45 minutes or so, which is about 15 minutes faster than the company demands. And of course, Charlotte was late. Really late. She turned up at 6:45am, which isn't bad considering she was supposed to be in at 6am. Being the nice, charitable, bitchy person I am, I commented to the Trading Manager that Charlotte was apparently late yesterday. After Charlotte came in, Caroline told me that Sue snapped at her "Well, you're staying until 3:45pm now!" Tee hee hee. Oh what joy it is to be a little bitchy and bitter.
And now, I am finally on holiday! Woo hoo! Still have to go chat with Laura tomorrow, and hopefully she will be nice enough to accept my little agreement to either just let it slide, or remove my one day holiday I have on the 7th January which I didn't ask for, and let me work a couple of 6 day weeks (like I care...)So, that is all! Tomorrow I will probably be bragging longly and loudly about how relaxing this holiday is. Or (hopefully not) bitching about how Laura cannot understand simple compromises. And if Laura is reading this...c'mon...show a little of that great leadership the other Jack talks about...Permalink
