Why is there a 100 character limit? (cool stuff btw!)
by mark 16 months ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
I guess the idea is you're adding context to your comments and you don't need a whole paragraph of context. Also, once you select text and comment it you prevent someone else from selecting a subset of that text and commenting only that. They are forced to reply to your larger selection. So they lose finer granularity of context. (I can't believe I just said granularity of context.)
by mark 16 months ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
I mean to add... do you think we should increase it?
by laurel 15 months 29 days ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
Ah, I see why. I was thinking about the sort of orthogonal feature where you're essentially making your own linkblog by commenting on things (like digg or bluedot), in which case more context might be useful.

So another widget that shows "What I'm Buzzing" (not sure if that's the best phrase) but stuff that you've highlighted and commented on in other peoples blogs that have linebuzz installed. That's brilliant. How much do you charge for these ideas of yours? ;) I'm totally going to do this. First I got bugs to fix.
by laurel 15 months 29 days ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
something like that... it's already in my buzz, but I think it would be cool if it was public, had a feed, etc...
by mark 15 months 29 days ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
OK will do. BTW, the widget doesn't work on your blog, but I have my DOM inspector out now and I've figured out why. All your blog entries are wrapped in a single DIV. Looks like paragraphs are in P elements though so I can use that and am working on something now.

wow, instant service :)

I went to the "Get Buzz'd" page and entered my blog url (http://blog.gorgorg.org). If I try to hit enter to submit, it goes to this url: http://linebuzz.com/getBuzzd/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fblog.gorgorg.org&advancedMode=0 and I get a "we encountered an error" popup (twice). If I click on the submit button it works fine.

Hi Laurel, I tried to repro the bug on the getBuzzd form and couldn't in IE or FF. But I added in something that may fix it anyway. Let me know what browser you're using and if it's fixed. Thanks!!
by laurel 15 months 29 days ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
Looks fixed.. Any reason why I can't reply to comments in the sidebar widget? this thread is getting big :)
by mark 15 months 29 days ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
Our developer was too lazy to implement that. ;) Good idea!
by laurel 15 months 29 days ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
I think locks on selections might not be properly released on errors. Repro: 1. Select text containing a link, try to comment on it. (get the error about not commenting on a link). 2. Select a subset of that text that does not contain a link. Get the error about someone else being busy commenting on that text. Thanks Laurel. I'm working on both of these right now.

Hello, there maybe a clash somewhere with your script and the TinyMCE Editor Javascript. I am using Simple Forum in my own hosted wordpress blog and it is not working right now, however i found it can be working well if i remove linebuzz javascript from my sidebar. I have check with Simple Forum developer, and he suggested me to check the compatibility between your javascript and TinyMCE. My url is http://clblog.net, please help, as i like both forum and linebuzz very much. Thank you.

Hi do you have any solution now? Sorry to trouble you again.
by Oaktree 15 months 10 days ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
I cannot seem to put linebuzz into my Wordpress? Any suggestions? I get the code showing in the widget I am putting the code into.
by Oaktree 15 months 10 days ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
On blogger I have it working but I had a line post which is open somewhere when I got to the text after two days it is still saying that the text is being commented on by someone.

Where's the CSS for LBACmnt? The link to the comment that you place on my page is hard to see in my color scheme. Do I just create my own style for the class or is there a place to define it? I looked at advanced mode but did not see it there.

I installed a script "Bubble Tool Tips" from http://web-graphics.com/mtarchive/001717.php on my Blogger blog and LineBuzz stopped working. I decided I would much rather keep LineBuzz so deleted the other. Unfortunately I lost all my comments.
by Sueblimely 14 months 25 days ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
Please ignore my earlier comment about losing my comments - they appeared again!
by mark 14 months 25 days ago at "LineBuzz Changelog...".
Hi Sue, Please don't blog about this just yet, but we're about to release a new version that includes a comment rescue tool for exactly this problem. Regards, Mark.
