I too was skeptical of this concept. I mean, come on, meeting random strangers online and then staying with them while traveling overseas when you are most vulnerable?
The thing is, it isn't random. You get to read testimonials of other people who know them and who have stayed with them. Plus, don't you just like the idea that people in the world are basically good, not evil?
As I write this, I can't help to think my unborn children will one day read this and use it as ammo to get me to agree to let them do adventurous things.

It would be cool if you somehow aggregated comments from other blog entries that mention the same highlighted term... or something...just a hunch that aggregating in interesting ways could be a powerful feature
Can you make it so the "enter your comment" ui shows up as soon as you highlight the text? that would be more discoverable.. It took me a while to figure out i needed to click the "comment inline" hyperlink to get to this pop-up.
